So, Erik actually turned 6 months about three weeks ago, but we took him this morning for his 6 month WBV. Growing big and strong! He's 19 pounds 11 ounces and is 27 1/2" long. In the 90th percentile for height and weight, but not quite as big as his older brother was.

It was a pretty uneventful visit- in and out in under 30 minutes! He doesn't go back until August for his 9 month appointment.

Today Erik had his 4 month well baby visit. Ken and I were trying to make some guesses as to how big he would be this month. Ken said 18 pounds, I said 17.

Well, Mommy wins! I was closest...Erik is my peanut at just 16 pounds 8 ounces! Ok, so he's really not a peanut- that's the 75th percentile, but Nicholas at 4 months was 18 pounds 12 ounces AND he weighed a pound and a half LESS than Erik at birth. Erik was also 26" long, which is 90th percentile for height. He's hitting all the appropriate milestones -he can roll from belly to back, and is this close to rolling from back to belly, he smiles the biggest smiles (as my pictures have shown!), he laughs big belly laughs, sleeps great (generally from 8:30p- 6:30/7:00a), and in general is one happy guy! We're not yet starting on solids...he's not ready, and I'm in no rush. He did get his next round of vaccinations- he cried when the needle went in, but as soon as I picked him up he was fine. Such a trooper!

We don't go back until the middle of May for his 6 month visit. I also scheduled Nicholas' 3 YEAR well child visit. Is it possible that Nicholas is going to be THREE?!?!

Today Erik had his 2 month well baby visit. He is following in the footsteps of his big brother, that's for sure. He's a whopping 14 pounds 4 ounces and 24 inches long. (I think they said his head is 16, but I could be wrong!) So, another boy at the top of the charts! He's also got eczema like his big brother (and mommy & daddy). Poor kid...he's got all these awful dry, scaly patches! Hopefully once the warmer weather comes it will clear up like the rest of the family.

Other than that we go back in two more months!

On Friday I took Erik to the pediatrician for his one month check up. At 8 days he was 8 lbs 14 oz (up from 8 lbs 7 oz at birth) and now at one month he's a whopping 12 pounds even and 23.5" long! He's in the 95+ percentile for both weight and length...it looks like I've got another big boy on my hand. I did realize that trying to take Nicholas with me to the appointment was a mistake- he's so very distracting and I had started to ask about Erik's tongue tie, but never got back to it because Nicholas was trying to escape. So next time he will NOT be coming with us!

Here are a few pictures.

Yes, I have hit the 30 week mark. 75% through this pregnancy. It has seriously flown by SO fast! I think having Nicholas around has kept me occupied. Not to mention our summers are so busy that I always have something to look forward to, and I don't just think about the baby's arrival! Oh, and the fact that we still have so much to do before s/he arrives!!!

Yesterday was my 30 week appointment. I'm now going every 2 weeks, and at 36 weeks I'll start my weekly appointments. Still no real weight gain- I believe I'm 11 or 12 pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight. My blood pressure is still looking great, and the baby's heartbeat was around 140. Ken and Nicholas went with me and Nicholas had the biggest smile on his face when he heard the heartbeat. It melted my heart! He seems really excited for his new sibling. And if you ask him, it's a baby sister in my belly! I still have no gut feeling or mother's intuition, but I'll go with Nicholas' guess and say it is a girl.

I've got some shopping done for the baby, and I've gone through what gender neutral clothes I have left from Nicholas. In fact I'm washing them all this weekend! I have bought some cute boy outfits and cute girl outfits, and figure what we don't use I can return/exchange, sell, or give away.

Still no name(s) yet for the Pumpkin. We have a few ideas we're tossing around, but nothing that I would call the perfect name yet. I think I need to meet this little one first before naming him/her.

That's about all for now. Once I have Ken take a picture of me I will update. But who knows when that may be! ***8/11/08 Here's the updated pics. Sel-portraits so not great, but you get the idea!

Well, I called this morning to set up my initial appointments. I will see the nurse practitioner on March 5 for all the basic background information and then I will see the doctor on April 2. Unfortunately, I now I have to go to a new practice than the one I was with when I was pregnant with Nicholas. My old practice broke up, and my favorite doctor isn't in the area. However, my second favorite doctor is, so I am happy about that. He was awesome every time I saw him last time- I just hope the rest of the doctors in the practice are good too.
