I know it has been a few weeks since I have updated- I've been slacking! Last night I had another doctor's appointment. Baby was hiding again and didn't want to let us hear the heartbeat. Finally heard it- going strong at 160 bpm. My blood pressure was normal- YEAH! I've been trying to eat healthier, I definitely am too young to have high blood pressure. Oh, and I lost 4 pounds since my last appointment. No biggie. This morning I called to schedule my level II ultrasound. It is set for Friday, May 23. I'm very excited to see this baby growing inside of me. We're still not finding out the sex though! This Friday I will take more belly shots. I don't think I'm showing any though. I am still able to fit into my regular jeans, and there is still a little bit of room surprisingly. I am definitely a lot smaller this time around than I was with Nicholas. Watch- I'll end up popping out and all of a sudden be bigger than I was with him!
Well, I am twelve weeks along already! It certainly is moving by quickly! I am starting to feel a whole lot better, which is nice since it is starting to get warmer and I want to be able to get outside with Nicholas.
I had my first doctor's appointment on Friday. Got to hear the little pumpkin's heartbeat- beating away at 154 bpm. It is the most amazing sound! I haven't gained any weight yet- in fact I'm still down a few pounds courtesy of the morning sickness. Good thing I have a few extra pounds to spare. I only gained 13 pounds with Nicholas, and I'd like to gain no more than 15 with this one.
Oh, and now that I've hit 12 weeks I'm going to *try* to take weekly picture of my belly. Not that you can tell right now. I can still fit in my regular clothes, but it will be nice to see the transition. I used the self-timer on my camera for these. Next week I'll get Ken to take the pics!

Please, please, please...if you have children in your home, please be sure your furniture is strapped and secured to your walls to prevent accidental tipping.
A mama on a forum I post on tragically lost her baby boy last night due to a dresser tipping over. My heart breaks for them. So, please- take the time to make sure your furniture is secure.
RIP Corey- you will not be forgotten.
Ugh...I am just a miserable brat today! That is the only way to explain it. Things are just annoying me. Things people say- how they have to "one up" someone else. I don't know why it is just bugging me today!Anyway, two more days until I leave for Texas! I am super excited. It is supposed to be in the low 80s all weekend- a complete change from the cold weather here! And I've been told the bluebonnets are in bloom! I can't wait to see them.Nicholas has been so silly lately. His new favorite movie is Cars. He asks to watch it about 5 times a day. (And no, we DO NOT watch it 5 times a day!) He makes sound effects to go along with the movie. Very cute. Oh, and for this one Curious George episode he just laughs and laughs...he thinks it is just SO funny! I love watching his little personality blossom!
Well, I haven't updated lately. I'm still suffering from all-day sickness. It had been strictly nausea until today. Today I actually got sick. I hate getting sick. I get so miserable. I'm hoping once the second trimester hits this will subside- I don't think I can take it much longer.Nicholas will now say baby all the time. He points out babies wherever he sees them, and will blow raspberries on my belly, but I don't think he really has a clue. Maybe once I start showing. And no...I'm not showing yet. I've actually lost weight with being so sick. When I was pregnant with Nicholas I was in maternity pants around 10 weeks. Well, I hit 10 weeks this Friday, and I'm still fitting quite comfortably in my regular clothes. It works for me though!Next weekend I'm taking a mini-vacation to Texas. I'll be flying into Dallas and staying with my friend Kelly, and then we'll be driving down to Houston. We're meeting up with a bunch of other chicas from our loop. It should be a good time. Pray that I feel better by then- I need to enjoy all the wonderful grub that Texas has to offer!
So, yesterday was my first appointment. Not with the doctor, just the nurse to get all my background information. Since my old practice split I had to give them all my information. They're still trying to get my old records. Anyway, it was a fairly uneventful appointment. Took my blood pressure (it was normal, which I was THRILLED about, since I've had high blood pressue- so this was good!) and that's about it. Didn't even weigh me (not that I'm complaining!) I go back in 4 weeks and actually meet with the doctor. I have to go for my blood work (BLECH) and that's about it. Morning sickness (aka- ALL DAY sickness) has decided to grace me this time around. I've been nauseated practically all day long for over two weeks now. A complete change from when I was pregnant with Nicholas. A few people have already said it must be a girl, but I don't think that it is a guarantee. And we don't plan on finding out the sex again- we liked the surprise. :)
Well, I called this morning to set up my initial appointments. I will see the nurse practitioner on March 5 for all the basic background information and then I will see the doctor on April 2. Unfortunately, I now I have to go to a new practice than the one I was with when I was pregnant with Nicholas. My old practice broke up, and my favorite doctor isn't in the area. However, my second favorite doctor is, so I am happy about that. He was awesome every time I saw him last time- I just hope the rest of the doctors in the practice are good too.
Yes- we finally got a BIG FAT POSITIVE today! I had been wondering if I was going to see one or not this month, but sure enough- we got it! Ken & I had planned on trying for baby #2 at the end of 2007, and this was our second full cycle of trying. The new baby will be due sometime in the middle of October. I got Ken a card to tell him that we were indeed pregnant. Inside I included the test. Below is a picture- the second line may be hard to see, but it is most definitely there!
